Mosaic workshop with Tania

For a few days, I let myself be carried away by a breath of creativity. Did you know that adventure doesn't wait in the Vienne, especially when it comes to share of Expériences Famille with my little traveler with my daughter Margot. After taking advantage of our introduction to family golf au Domaine de Roiffe, we joined the workshop of Tania, an art mosaicist south of Poitiers. I tell you this whole new Family Experience that I had the chance to share alongside Margot.

It is in a barely concealed alley that what I call the cave of 1000 and one wonders is hidden. Pushing the door open, I found a sparkling world made of small colored tesserae, each one as beautiful as the next. The first thing that struck me upon entering Tania's mosaic workshop, it’s undoubtedly the soothing, artistic, almost divine atmosphere! The walls are decorated with paintings bursting with astonishing colors and textures, witnesses to the talent of our art mosaic artist. With curious eyes, Margot can't believe her eyes, the drawers are overflowing with treasures and above all, they shine! Her curiosity awakened, the magic can work: my young artist is ready to express all her creativity.

Full of generosity, Tania explains her job and mosaic techniques to us. Each little piece of mosaic tells a story, the one we choose to give it according to our sensitivity, our emotions too. So in Tania's Workshop, it's all our imagination that is awakened, it's even bubbling! In a simple way, Tania was able to immediately captivate Margot who just had to let herself be carried away. Tania's approach is unique, exciting and even leaves us both dreaming. Our teacher for a day encourages us to follow our intuition rather than following rigid models. For Margot, it was the trigger. With his attraction to art and creative activities, I feel it like a fish in water.  

Learn to express all your creativity 

We start by choosing our support and the tesserae. In this colorful world, the choice seems infinite but the pleasure is already there. We can touch, associate, hesitate or, like Margot, take the plunge! With this joyful carelessness, I watch her plunge her hands into each drawer. “ All these colors look like candy, don’t you think? », Tania told him. Margot is in heaven, she is attracted by blue and red shades and also pretty mirrors where she enjoys looking at herself. “It has to shine“, she whispers to me. On a small wooden support, Margot has started to shape her sculpture, Tania accompanies her while leaving her free to do. Delighted, I observe him pose, assemble and readjust his creation in a meticulous manner.  

For my part, I am moving towards brown shades to form the bark of my tree (Nature when you hold us!). I had spotted the pretty caramel reflections of the glass paste which caught my eye. Now it's time to glue the first piece. With all her kindness, Tania guides me to learn to cut my tesserae using pliers. Step by step, I have plenty of time to move forward, to try, to practice my skills! In short, of take full advantage of my activity. Concentrated and diligent, Margot, the little mosaic artist, follows the instructions with particular attention. Tania, never far away, ensures that the experience remains fun, providing advice and encouragement. 

I understood all the magic of these Expériences Famille in the Vienne. We were there to learn and create, but also to play and discover together. To tell you the truth, what most appealed to me was undoubtedly the multiple benefits of these Expériences Famille to do in the Vienne. In addition to being entertaining and creative, it is also particularly relaxing for young and old children like us. Whether you have the soul of an artist or whether you are beginner like me, this mosaic workshop will make everyone agree.
