The small village of Château-Larcher, labeled “ Small towns of character ", takes a leap into the past with its traditional medieval fair ! Every year in September, for two days, the village invites you to celebrate and be surprised by the many exhibitors, artisans and by the magic of shows ! Every year, more than 20 000 people come to soak up themedieval atmosphere, as we could have lived it at time of the knights. What if this year it was you?
Come and “feast”, have fun and discover
Between historical reconstructions and good humor, this meeting at Chateau-Larcher, not to be missed, invites you for two festive days for “ feast » enjoy et discover.
Around the church and the castle, at the bends of the stands and stalls, you will come across lords, knights, ladies, peasants or even acrobats. Enough to lose all your time markers!
The ECLA Association who organizes this fair, helped by 140 volunteers, prides itself on renewing craftsmen, shows and events every year to offer you an attractive program and memorable memories.
Go back in time with medieval camps and shows
In the théâtre de vegetables, at the foot of castle, many reconstructed medieval camps, including an viking camp, will do the happiness of young and old with presentation and demonstration of weapons but also reconstruction of fights.
Several shows will punctuate the two days: falconry, flag throwers, fire eaters, equestrian dressage, music and juggling, medieval dancess or again theater. Not to mention the garage sales-flea market which will take place on Sunday.
Meet the exhibitors
Let yourself be tempted by the hypocras, sweet medieval wine flavored with spices, in the “good smells” street, where more than 40 exhibitors will be present.
Near the Town Hall, several craftsmen, such as a wood turner or a enameller-stained-glass artist, will present their know-how.
Get ready for the beggars' parade
The children will also be at the party with the presence of wooden games but also medieval games that will teach the sword fight will allow them to fight with the sword in complete safety.
Other highly anticipated moments, the traditional parades of beggars. All the participants in period dress but also lepers, more real than nature, will meet for parades in the village. All costumed members of the public are welcome. So why not you ?
