The castle was built during the Renaissance on the basis of an older hostel. It was completed in the XNUMXth century by return pavilions, and went through several stages of transformation.
In the XNUMXth century, carved chimneys were added at the same time as the mullions were partly removed.
At the beginning of the XNUMXth century, the dining room was renovated with original wallpaper still preserved and a paving consisting of alternating black slabs in solid slate and white slabs, reuse of slabs from the cornice of the Château de Bonnivet.
Its slender architecture with an upper chamber surrounded by watchtowers on the Cour d'Honneur, and sculpted skylights and a Florentine staircase on the rear part make it stand out from afar.
The XNUMXth century pavilions are decorated with pots-à-feu and sculptures above the windows.
