Le Moulin de Chitré
The mill of Chitré is an old mill inherited from the Middle Ages, linked to the castle of the same name.
After the production of flour and oil, the mill was equipped with avant-garde machinery from the end of the XNUMXth century: an electric generator, a water pump and a cooler, all operating thanks to a powerful "Sagebien" wheel. ". Few sites, at that time, crystallized in one and the same place all the "new technologies" inherited from the industrial revolution.
The attic of the Moulin de Chitré has been converted into a museum space on the theme of water and the Pinail nature reserve.
The belvedere offers you a splendid and unique view of the edges of Vienne, with its dam and its XNUMXth century port in front of you. You will also find a reception area, an exhibition hall, a natural garden, picnic tables and a shop.
