The Museum of Prehistory of Lussac-les-Châteaux, labeled Museum of France, is dedicated to local prehistory. It is located in the heart of La Sabline, a cultural complex also including a Media Library and a Youth and Culture Center. It wants to be an essential link for who wants to discover prehistory in Poitou-Charentes and offers in addition to a discovery of the collections, an outdoor route to the nearest prehistoric sites.
Its collections are made up of thousands of objects from archaeological excavations carried out in caves or rock shelters in the Lussaco region and include: remains of fauna, tools and weapons in flint, objects in bone and animal wood, ornaments and works portable art engraved on bone materials and on stones.
