Back

This 12th century dungeon. restored houses a museum space on four levels (Museum of France label). The vertical movement is ensured by an elevator, public order of the Delegation for Plastic Arts, work of the architect designer Sylvain Dubuisson. The industries of the Chauvinois country are evoked from the Neolithic to the present day through the eyes of the archaeologist: stone and quarries in the Chauvinois basin; the earth and the manufacture of ceramics evoking the history of the Chauvigny porcelain factory.

The exhibition "Living with the gods" (2nd level) takes you back to Roman times and shows you ceramics, statues, sculptures... found in the Gué-de-Sciaux sanctuary (Antigny, 86). Touch tablets are available to visitors (subject to availability) to complete the visit.
