The abbey of Saint-Benoît was founded in the XNUMXth century by Saint-Achard. Destroyed in the XNUMXth century, it was rebuilt in the XNUMXth and XNUMXth centuries. Of the conventual buildings of the abbey, only the chapter house remains, with beautiful sculpted capitals and upstairs, the former monks' dormitory with its frame in the hull of an overturned boat.
Currently, the restoration carried out with the Buildings of France, follows that of the church (1971 to 1984), then that of the abbey house of the impasse du Prieuré, thus achieving a medieval architectural unity of the heritage of the commune.
It houses many exhibitions and events and is a place of cultural expression. The cross garden is beautifully restored and allows relaxation.
Access is free and possible for people with reduced mobility thanks to an elevator.
