Théâtre Gallo Romain du Vieux Poitiers

The Gallo-Roman town of "Vetus Pictavis", built almost 2000 years ago, is located at the confluence of the Vienne and Clain. The city covered almost 70 hectares.

To the southeast, the 10-seat theater measuring 000 meters in diameter, offered a breathtaking panorama of the city's ancient monuments. The people of the city and surrounding areas came to enjoy the performances that took place on the theater stage.

This whole complex is located along the Poitiers-Tours Roman road, an essential location for trade and commerce with the rest of the Roman Empire.
