Located on the site of the former Châtellerault arms factory, the museum, listed as a Historic Monument, occupies part of the former Lebel rifle assembly workshop. Initially the Museum of Technology and the Automobile, then the Auto Moto Vélo Museum, since 2019 it has been the Grand Atelier, Museum of Art and Industry.
Three routes to discover:
- CARS, MOTORCYCLES, BICYCLES: from the beginning of the 19th century until the 2000s, discover the history of the evolution of means of transport.
- ARMS MANUFACTURING, its industrial and social history.
- CABARET DU CHAT NOIR But why mention the famous Montmartre cabaret in Châtellerault? Quite simply because its creator, Rodolphe Salis, is from Châtellerault.
