On the route of the Valley of the Frescoes, the Notre-Dame church in Montmorillon, perched on a rocky outcrop, dominates the Gartempe and the old bridge.
The Sainte-Catherine crypt carries the sanctuary and presents a painted decoration of the XNUMXth century recounting episodes from the life of Saint-Catherine of Alexandria. We can see, among other things, a Virgin "Mother of tenderness" enthroned in a mandorla welcoming the procession of holy women venerating the Child Jesus.
