Lanterne des Morts

Back

Proudly erected on the Place d'Antigny, the lantern of the dead, a venerable sentinel of time, is the oldest cross in the village. Once located in the center of the old cemetery, this hollow column, pierced with holes to facilitate the ascent, housed a lamp whose glow illuminated the nights.

Despite the ravages of time and the vagaries of history, it was restored several times (1884, 1880, 1909) and classified as a Historic Monument in 1884.
