It was in the 1890s that the breath of progress transformed La Roche-Posay. The inauguration of the railway line and the construction of the station opened a new chapter in the history of the city. Now connected to major cities, it attracts a wealthy clientele looking for rest and well-being.
The station, a real gateway to the spa, contributes to its meteoric growth. The train continued to operate on these tracks until 1952, before definitively ceasing its activity.
