Site des Tours Mirandes
The Tours Mirandes are the remains of an important Gallo-Roman agglomeration.
Near the town, this site is a rural sanctuary, of which there remain the foundations of a cultural building of exceptional magnitude: the remains of habitat and the remains of buildings which make it in the XNUMXrd century the largest from Poito.
Discovered for the first time in the 60th century, it was really the subject of several excavation and rescue campaigns on the arrival of Colonel Charles Potut in the early 1976s. The drought of XNUMX made it possible to establish and reproduce the most of the plan thanks to aerial photography. It was a large secondary agglomeration composed of a residential district, a craft district, a sanctuary, a theater and an esplanade long called the forum.
