Church of Saint Denis - Jaunay-Marigny

Built on the site of a pagan temple, the church takes its name from the first bishop of Paris martyred at Montmartre in 273 A.D. Though modified and enlarged throughout the centuries, it still retains its 12th century bay. Interesting features of the church include a representation of the crucifixion of Christ made by master stained-glass maker Max Ingrand in 1967 to replace the original 15th century one. Nearby: Château Couvert and the charterhouse gardens, the Futuroscope Theme Park and the Château de Dissay.
