Donjon de Moncontour

A former fortress built around 1040 by Foulques Nerra, the Dungeon of Moncontour is a real treasure from the XNUMXth century, made famous by the wars and sieges which have been repeated there over the centuries. Bertrand du Guesclin and Geoffroy Martel even wrote beautiful pages of French history there. The roof, reconstructed as part of the restoration, as well as the staircase integrated into the thickness of the walls are to be discovered. If the view offered from the esplanade is already a trip, then what can we say about the panorama offered from the summit?

Also to be discovered: the path of the laundries which evokes the rich hours of the region, and the leisure base installed around a lake of 10 ha.
