Small rural heritage

Le Four à Chaux des Amilières

Overgrown with vegetation for 50 years, it has been constantly restored since the early 2000s.

The lime kiln is leaned against a cliff on two sides. The clearly visible front side is made of limestone rubble. The interior is made of refractory bricks. Next door, in an old limestone quarry, the visitor will discover a natural cave.

Explanatory panels tell the story of the kiln and the process of making lime for agricultural use.
