Angles-sur-l’Anglin

The village of Angles-sur-l'Anglin includes an upper town and a lower town, picturesque, narrow and steep streets, remarkable panoramas, craftsmen, the "Jours d'Angles" workshop, fine embroidery on threads drawn that have a rich history. The impressive 11th century Fortress of Angles rises more than 40 meters above the waters of the Anglin. Of its tormented life, there remain today majestic ruins and a unique atmosphere...
From the top of one of the towers, you can admire a beautiful panorama over the Anglin valley with in particular the Sainte-Croix district and its superb flat-tiled houses and its Romanesque church.

In addition, the Roc aux Sorciers Interpretation Center presents in an unusual way the prehistoric frieze (considered to be the most important in the world, from the Magdalenian sculpted period) discovered in Angles-sur-l'Anglin in 1950.
