Église Saint-Pierre

The Parish of Bonneuil Matours is mentioned around 980, under the mention Bonolio Monasterio. At that time, Bonneuil had a priory dependent on the abbey of Saint Cyprien de Poitiers. Hence the importance of the choir of this church, with stalls and apse dating from the Romanesque period. Reconstruction of the nave after 1850.
The church dedicated to Saint-Pierre dates from the XNUMXth century. The choir and the apses are Romanesque. The decorations are remarkable: historiated capitals and modillions, ribbons of pearls animated by birds or fantastic monsters.
