Au Paradis de Senillé, sheep farm
- Senillé Saint-Sauveur
Visit this sheep farm, see the herd and discover how we look after the sheep and manage the land and animals.
Farm shop selling lamb and sheep's wool.
We ended up in La Vienne by chance and fell in love with this little corner of paradise where the sheep were already completely at home. We took over the farm in 2008, and today our herd consists of 400 sheep on 100 hectares of land given over solely to grazing. Keen to offer consumers high-quality produce, we decided to move into direct sale of our produce. As a result, since 2011 we have been selling our lamb and other related products on site. Visitors are welcome to come to the farm to see how we manage our herd and/or discover our produce. We sell our meat vacuum-packed, in meat packs and individual cuts.
For the convenience of our customers, we have opened a farm shop at the farm entrance. It is generally open once a month on a Saturday. On shop days, customers come to buy cuts of lamb, merguez, sausages and pâtés and to pick up their meat packs, and they will also find produce made by our neighbours for sale! This is because to reduce food miles, we also offer for sale produce made by other local producers. One speciality of la Ferme du Paradis is sheep's wool. Sold in skeins, our pure new wool comes from the fleeces of our own sheep. If you're not a knitter, you may find what you're looking for among or ready-knitted items on display, but we also make tailor-made garments to order... So why not come and visit us? If you would like to come and meet us, please get in touch by email or phone to arrange a time, because we are often busy with our animals!
